The labradorite beads in this necklace are faceted and will occasionally beam light blue flashes of light. I paired them with the ruby in zoisite beads for a bit of contrast (which are faceted as well).

The pink beads have a matte finish and are made of recycled glass by the Krobo people of Ghana, a complicated process that involves pulverizing the glass and then re-fusing it. They are flanked with white freshwater pearls to provide a different finish and some iridescence.

All of these gemstones are very strong and have a "slow burn" quality to them -- they sneak up on you!
